The Family (The Core)  -->  The Church  -->  The Future

One of the functions of the Family Life Ministry is to help foster a “sense of community” within the Church.  One method of doing this is to promote activities that involve the families within the Parish.  

The Family Life Ministry consists of volunteers from the Parish, men and women, young adults to seniors. They help to organize family-friendly activities including:

• Parish Picnic - a very successful picnic / potluck held in the early Fall. Parishioners bring a side dish or desert and the Knights of Columbus provide and cook the meat.
• Mardi Gras Gala - Monterey Station in Cowan is decorated in the spirit of Mardi Gras, items are donated by Parishioners and local merchants for a “silent auction”, participants dine on true Louisiana-style cuisine and dance to live music. 

Under the Family Life Ministry there are the following sub-ministries: 

• The Young at Heart Social Club
• Bereavement Ministry
