Required for GS Safety Ministry Team Members.Instructor: Keith Balsamo RN, EMT-P, American Heart Association instructor currently working in the Emergency Department of Southern TN Regional Health System Hospital in Winchester, TN.

Topics to be covered for all parishioners attending:

CPR/Basic Life Support
How to operate the AEDs at Good Shepherd
How to use the LifeVac Choking devices at Good Shepherd
Recognizing and treating heart attacks
Recognizing and treating stroke victims
Recognizing and treating a low blood sugar emergency (diabetic episode)
Familiarity with the pre-positioned First Aid Kits and medical equipment at Good Shepherd
Recommended methods of making personal medical information available to Safety Team as needed.
